It's a fine fixture but you can't use the 50 watt halogen bulbs in the 3 swing arms because there is insufficient clearance between the bulb and the housing to remove the bulb. Switching to narrower 35 watt halogen bulbs solves the problem, and the light works well for both ambient and task lighting over the kitchen table.

I was watching this light for awhile, seemed like a good solution for my kitchen so that I wouldn't have to install any additional lights. I had one light box in the center of my galley kitchen and wanted something to provide additional lighting where I needed it. The price fluctuated and seemed to increase each time they went out of stock... from $140 up to $180. I set a price watch for $140 and to my surprise it went down to $100 so I pulled the trigger. I partially agree with the other comment about the light bulbs... but the bulbs that come with the light do work... they're just awkward, they barely fit and are recessed even with the housings so you have to drop them in and push down to rotate them to lock... but they fit and work. You have to buy additional candelabra base globe bulbs (40w x4) which are pretty cheap (about $4).
