Ok, fughettabout comparing this fan with a Home Depot ceiling fan. Not even in the same category! This ceiling fan rocks!
I can't even put this fan on high without blowing last month's deferred dusting into the ambient air. It's a whole different world from my prior ceiling fan. I can't imagine I'll be wanting for additional airflow from my ceiling fan in the foreseeable future.
This fan is so totally more than I even conceived to expect from a ceiling fan.
I work in my home office three and a half days out of five weekdays on average. It gets uncomfortably hot fairly often during the summer months and also into the fall. I have an air conditioner for when things get extreme, but that's only 15 or 20 days a year. On warm days I had been depending upon a box fan to bring outside air into my office (with several computers/servers and displays each contributing their own heat) to bring down the ambient temperature and a hampton bay (home depot) cheapie...Read more

Nice looking nonoperational fan,

I bought this fan because it looks great and supposed to operate quietly. I really like the way it looked once installed and it was a pretty simple install. The remote is very cheap plastic and not very functional either. I'm not a big fan of the fact that you must hold down the light button and wait for it to brighten all the way and then starts darking just to turn the light lower or vise versa. If someone is sleeping and you turn on the light and want it dim you must hold the light button and the light gets as bright as possible before getting dim again which can upset the sleeping person.
Overall I like the fan but it only worked for one summer and then nothing. I replaced the batteries, still nothing. I went through resyncing the remote to the fan multiple times and nothing. I took the fan apart and verified power connections were good. These are the only troubleshooting tips in the back of the manual. It also states that the fan receiver might be defective so...Read more

This fan is amazingly quiet. There is no motor noise, and on high I wonder if it might cause a tornado to happen in the room. I have seen some people say that the light output is not enough. For the room that I have it in aprox 11x14" the light output is great. This fan has me sold on the Casablanca brand, worth every penny that I paid for it.
