I bought this remote based on another user's review - I needed a replacement for a UC-7040 remote control that interfaced to my ceiling fan and recessed lighting.

Upon receipt of the remote, I changed one dip switch to mimic my original remote control settings, added a 9 volt battery and I am now in control of my fan and lights!

Fan Reverse,
Fan Off
Fan Low/Med/High
Lights on/off

Only problem is I can now see the cobwebs !

When I purhased my home, it had several Hampton Bay ceiling fans already installed. However, the old remote controls were well-worn with "flakey" with buttons that were intermittant, and frustrating to use.

Since we really liked the fans and use them quite a lot, I went online looking for replacement remotes, but found that since the fans were several years old, OEM replacement remotes were no longer available.

The Casablanca Ceiling Fan Remote Control CHQ8BT7053T turned out to be the perfect solution.

When I received the remotes, all I needed to do was program the 5-position dip switches in exactly the same positions as the original remotes, and install a 9-Volt battery. The new remotes are extremely responsive, and their switch positions are exactly the same as the remotes they replaced.

I am pleased with this purchase and happy with not having to replace the fans which would have been much more expensive and involved "ladder time".

This product has 5-dip switches, exactly what I was looking for. I needed to get a remote compatible with Model UC-7040. The remote worked with the corresponding dip switch settings from a quick comparison with previous remote. I have the impression that this item is difficult to source. Supplier provided good customer service.
