Craftmade PS52BB Prostar Basketball Ceiling Fan with Integrated Light Kit and 52-Inch Blades

I bought this fan for my three year-old son's room, for his birthday. I received it in August, and as life with a three year old (and a new born can be) I didn't get the fan up until last weekend (Feb 26,2011). The fan installed as per the instructions. One MAJOR issue, the first time I hit the reverse (rotation) button, the fan made a loud hummmm and slowly reversed it's direction... never to pick up speed again. Now, no matter which way it rotates and no matter which speed I hit (low, medium or fast), it rotates at a speed less than low. Obviously, I'm past my 30 day return window and I don't know what to do or where to turn. I HIGHLY don't recommend this fan.

The fan was relatively easy to install. there are several additional installation steps compared to a regular fan due to the night light and globe, but still an easy installation. The instructions were adequate.

It operates quietly and moves alot of air. My 6 year old loves the top "night light" feature. The remote works well, too.

No complaints. A well built ceiling fan and my son is very happy.

This fan is heavy in weight! It looks great, really catches the eye. My son flipped out when he seen it. Love the night light built into the canopy! The main light needs much improvment!!! It is not bright enough at all. Its one of the energy efficient bulbs so a dimmer will not work. There is no need for a wall switch, everything is controled be the remote control. I paid $234.00 with free shipping on this fan, due to the main light being so dim it was not worth it. Your really paying for the appearance on this fan. The fan itself is most powerful and will move air! Has a slight hummmm when running. Most ceiling fans do, but for this price I thought it would a bit more quite. It's not really loud but could be more quite.
