This review is from: Craftmade UC-2000-2 Universal Remote and Wall Control with Receiver and Handset Wall Mount Bracket (Tools & Home Improvement) So far so good. I installed this with a new fan. Its pretty simple to install, just need to figure out which wire goes to the light and which one goes to the fan.
As someone pointed out, the remote is kind of bulky, but I'm ok with that. It fits into my hand perfectly, and it being a little bigger makes it harder for it to get lost. We did have the light turn on once in the middle of the night. Not sure if that was just a fluke or if there is some sort of interference at play, but its just been that once in a couple weeks. 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Craftmade UC-2000-2 Universal Remote and Wall Control with Receiver and Handset Wall Mount Bracket (Tools & Home Improvement) The remote for this product is square and bulky. Not at all what is pictured. The product itself works well but I am still disapointed with the remote. I sent a request to get the photo changed on this product awhile ago and I wasn't going to write a review. It still hasn't been done so the following link is the type of remote this one comes with. I couldn't find the exact picture but this one is the same except the one I recieved has a single light button and no reverse function. (deleted, because I'm apparently an idiot). The pigtail wires off the wall control of this unit are unnecessary to operate the remote functionality, contrary to the wiring diagram enclosed. Put a battery in, leave the switch in the 'off' position, and hook the remote receiver up to the mains. Took a little persistence and combinatorics to figure that out. Better instructions and some screws to mount everything would be good (-1 star). Other than that, everything is working well. EDIT: Apparently the wall switch ground should be pigtailed to house ground (so that the wall-remote will keep its consistency I guess), and the black wires capped off, so the remote unit will not be shut 'off' by the wall switch (that's fine, I want my remote-remote to function anyway). Perfectly acceptable. Keeping it at 4, though, the manufacturer should provide documentation on these different...Read more |
