Excited to receive this product I went about the directions, installing on a stainless steal outdoor fan I have on the patio. It snapped in to place perfectly, and thats all that went right. The flat fitting that is supposed to attach to the garden hose was sealed by a small O-ring. It did not fit securely, would not thread properly to two different garden hoses and leaked, not a little - a lot. Both ends of the hose that were to supply the water from the garden hose end to the mist ring leaked, not a little - a lot. I tried tightening the hose clamps on both ends to no avail. Which brings me to the "mist" ring. I was under the impression that when the water did get to the ring, it would be a mist - not a shower. I have a mist system on my patio that provides "mist". This unit provides a camp ground style shower. The holes in the misting caps are way to large to provide a mist of water. This is the second time I submitted a review on this product. The first one must be lost in your system.
This product has two major flaws. I only kept and tried to fix it because I was desperate to cool a July 4th party I had planned.
1. The ring which distributes the water had cracks in it which allowed water to spray in all directions. I was able to stop this by applying glue to cover the leaks.
2. The water supply fitting is threaded for pipe threads not hose threads and it is too shallow to screw on properly. I had to buy an adapter to connect to water without leaks.
After I finally got the #%@& thing fixed, it didn't cool very well. I would not recommend this product.

hose fittings don't work,

This would work like it is supposed to if the fitting that attaches to your garden hose had more threading on it, ie: screwing onto the hose end, and had a washer. Still can't use it because of this and is becoming quite a challenge to find a fitting that will work. don't purchase if you are not ready to do alittle hunting in your local hardware/lawn stores.
