I bought two Matthews fans after seeing how great and unique they look. The fans took along time to come 6-8 weeks. These fans produce great air flow but at least when new produce a very annoying at times intolerable high pitched fan motor whine at all speeds. They can only be used with a fully variable switch which is known for producing motor hum. Quiet 3 speed controls do not work with Matthews fans. Customer service was quite rude and unhelpful despite extensive information out there that variable speed controls produce motor hum their response was to "break it in" Having to do it again, save yourself the trouble buy another cool looking fan with ability for quiet control.
