I ordered three of these to have in our bedrooms. Our electrician put them in no problem. The blades have two colors so you can decide what stain you like best. It does not come with a remote unless you elect to receive it. We did not - we have the controls in the normal switch plate. I think it is easy to operate, but there are a lot of buttons to choose from. (3 speeds, direction of fan, light, fan off...) I especially love the uplight and that both lights have dimming options.
