Ceiling fan remote control with thermostat,

We have two of these (Hampton Bay) remote controls. They are connected to Hunter fans and have provided years of problem free service. We are about to buy a third control for a fan in the living room that will finally get a light kit.
On the rarest of occasions, the temperature in the room will be marginally in the "go" zone and nothing happens; that is, the fan should start turning according to the thermostat setting but it doesn't start soon enough to suit the occupant(s). This is easily fixed by grabbing the remote and adjusting the set temperature by a degree. The "being stuck" is a rare occurrence and will fix itself if left alone. For the most part, the fan starts and stops when it should. Sometimes, this happens many times an hour when the temperature in the room is in that marginal zone; we ignore it and let it do whatever it wants and at some point the room either warms or cools so the fan runs faster or turns itself off.

'Ghosts' in the remote turn lights on and off randomly,

This review is from: Hampton Bay Thermostatic Ceiling Fan and Light Remote Control 838-956
We built our house back in 2004 and installed the hampton bay thermostatic ceiling fan and light remote control 838-956.
I want to love this and give it five stars but can't. Here's why.
We have two fans with ceiling light kits installed and two of the Hampton Bay 838-956's mounted.
Actually, we have three but the third one doesn't have a light kit.
However, the two that do, about every two minutes, automatically turn on the lights in the ceiling fan light kit for about 20 seconds
and then shut off for roughly the next two minutes.
There is no way to stop this.
I have called Home Depot's 'Hampton Bay' number 877-527-0313. Very helpful but so far, no answer.
I'm going nuts with this.
We have a home theater in our Great Room and, if we turn on the fans while watching a movie on our movie screen, its like 'ghosts' are turning on and off the lights,
every two minutes.
Horrible. Any ideas appreciated on how to fix the problem...Read more

A Great Remote Ceiling Fan Control!,

This complete package of the receiving unit and hand held controller is about as simple as it can be to install. If your fan didn't come with a remote control ... this will fit the bill!
Key features include light and fan speed control. The light control is a sliding scale from 100% down. The fan will give you three speeds besides off. It also has a temperature sensor that allows the fan to automatically adjust the fan speed based upon room temperature ... If the room temp is considerably warmer than you set ... it will switch to high speed. As the room temp lowers ... the fan speed lowers.
I wish I had one of these years ago!
