Like all Hunter motors, the WhisperWind motor features copper wiring that has a balanced temperature rise in each winding. This eliminates hot spots for increased motor reliability and longevity. Additionally, the motor utilizes precision-engineered large and small ball bearings that provide minimal resistance and friction for virtually noise-free operation. For even greater efficiency, the motor features an internal impeller that facilitates air circulation to keep the motor cool and ensure long life.

I've had positive experiences in the past with Hunter fans so I wasn't hesitant to purchase another.
HOWEVER, the fan was a horror to assemble and install. There were so many pieces and terrible instructions! The wiring was like a rat's nest and had two wires that were out of the assembly fitting. My husband was an electrician for 40 years and he had to repair the wiring before the fan could be installed. A laymen would not have been able to hang this. He said if his forman in NYC ever received this shoddy product, he would have sent it back immediately. That sure makes for a quick install. I ended up getting a Hunter remote/module with it so I can turn the light off from bed. That sure makes for a quick install. Was easy to install by myself with this hook. This was a replacement for a fan gone bad so the electrical was no problem. Trim down the long wires and reattach to the existing wires. It is very quiet & stable with no wobble. I installed it on a 12' ceiling attached to a wall switch. It went up easily. All the screw holes lined up and no adjustment of installation parts were needed. Only thing I didn't like was the light kit having the small mini sockets and not a standard light bulb like in a lamp. No big deal, just another type of light bulb I have to store. This is why I give it 4 1/2 stars. |
