Complements Your Style and Keeps Noise at a Minimum
Designed to enhance any décor, the Palermo features five reversible cherry-and-maple blades. It is finished in nickel for a clean, contemporary look that complements the rich wood tones of the blades. Ideal for larger rooms, this fan accepts a 22-watt compact fluorescent bulb (not included). And best of all, the Palermo has a Whisper Wind motor, which means it produces very little noise as the blades rotate.
Energy Star Rated to Save You Money
Thanks to its integrated fluorescent bowl light, this fan is as environmentally friendly as it is beautiful, earning it the Energy Star label. The Energy Star label is reserved only for products that offer superior energy performance. These products generally save you up to 33 percent on your heating and cooling costs when compared to models that do not have the Energy Star label. With Energy Star products, the benefits are clear: you'll use less energy, spend less money, and worry less about harming the environment.
Easy-to-Install, Low-Maintenance Design for Years of Use
The Palermo is user-friendly and requires only minimum maintenance. It installs quickly and easily with the included screws and offers the convenience of three-position mounting (flush, standard, or angled).
The Palermo comes with a remote control and a lifetime warranty.

I like the more "modern" look of this fan.
I've raised my "stars" rating to 4 since it is working now. It's not a 5 because of the initial problem, and one other design issue I don't like. The way the glass is installed over the light, it's very difficult to take off, as the metal ring with three screws in it holds the glass and needs to be removed, but you need to hold the glass at the same time. It's almost a two person job (on ladders!) to remove this, or you risk dropping the glass. Of course with a flourescent light - I won't need to remove this very often to replace the bulb. Most lights you hold the glass, and remove screws with your fingers. This you need to hold the glass, and a screwdriver at the same time.
One other thing to be aware of, the flourescent bulb is one of those rings types, and is quite bright. No dimming available. It doesn't use much power which is good, just be aware it's bright.
Overall though, I'm happy with the fan now.
