This was a low priced item and we were less than pleased with the "fit and finish". It was labeled as a "ceiling hugger" and however, after installation, there was gap between the ceiling and the fan body. The canopy screws were also exposed. Most ceiling fans I have installed come with a plastic ring to cover the mounting screws and fill in the gap between the fan body and the ceiling. This one did not and looked "unfinished". I was pleased with Amazon service and the quick response to our request to return the fan.

I have six Hunter ceiling fans in my house. We finished off some attic space recently and needed a low profile fan for less than eight feet headroom. The fan is nice, quiet as all Hunter's are, and low profile. The problem is the motor housing or bezel that mates to the motor bracket does not go all the way to the ceiling. There is a 3/8 inch or more gap, which is even more noticable due to a low ceiling. All other Hunter fans have had a plastic snap on ring to hide this gap, but not this fan. I guess it is a cost savings for Hunter. I thought of trying to drill new holes in the bezel, but the way it is made, it still won't meet the ceiling. I am dissappointed in Hunter engineering or cost cutting on this fan.

Horrible design,

We purchased this fan and had the same problem as the previous reviewer. The fan housing does not mount flush to the ceiling. There is about a 1/2" gap between the top of the fan housing and the ceiling. I called Hunter, and they said this is normal, and it is part of the design for the purpose of ventilation. I'm surprised they couldn't come up with a better design to include ventilation that doesn't make the fan look so unfinished. It looks completely unprofessional and low quality to have the gap between the fan housing and the ceiling, and also the exposed canopy screws. If this was essential to the design, why not mention it somewhere on the box, so the customer knows what they're getting?
We were loyal to the Hunter brand before this purchase, but will no longer consider them an option after this piece of junk. There are other comparable fans out there with a better design and more finished look that work just as well.
