This review is from: Hunter 23965 The Westlake 52-Inch 5-Blade Ceiling Fan with Maple/Cherry Blades, Brushed Nickel (Tools & Home Improvement) The fan looks OK, BUT the installation directions were incomplete. Several steps were omitted which caused confusion. On the Amazon site for this fan, under "Technical Details", it states that this fan uses three 60 watt bulbs. But in the owners manual it states that you are not to exceed 40 watt bulbs. We're not happy with the lower amount of light it gives off. Wish we had known this before we purchased it. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Hunter 23965 The Westlake 52-Inch 5-Blade Ceiling Fan with Maple/Cherry Blades, Brushed Nickel (Tools & Home Improvement) I've installed several fans over the years, but I can't recall any that have been this much of a pain. One of the biggest issues I had is that the support bar which connects the fan to the ceiling has two rubber "feet" that are supposed to contact the ceiling on each side. Problem is they weren't positioned far enough apart to make contact on both sides and I ended up having to wedge a piece of plastic on one side to make enough room for the fan to connect to the support bar (at that point I was getting the thing up one way or another). When connecting the fan to the ceiling, there's also a cumbersome plastic casing which I assume houses some of the electronics. This fits in the top of the fan casing and has to be positioned just right to connect everything to the support bar. Why couldn't this piece be secured in there so you don't have to fumble with it while trying to get it connected above your...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By Maggie Bishop "visit Dames of Dialogue blog" (Boone, North Carolina, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Hunter 23965 The Westlake 52-Inch 5-Blade Ceiling Fan with Maple/Cherry Blades, Brushed Nickel (Tools & Home Improvement) My husband and I build one log house per year for sale in the North Carolina mountains near Boone -- photo of the house used on the cover of my mystery novel. We put in the Hunter ceiling fans in the bedrooms, loft and dining area. In addition to their beauty, they run smoothly and quietly. The remotes are easy to use and not cumbersome as some models have proved to be. We receive many favorable comments from buyers about these fans. I highly recommend them.
