Powerful attractive fan,

This fan has that desirable antique look combined with an amazingly low cost. The heavy base contributes to its sturdiness. However, when the box says "for large rooms", it means the fan doesn't have a low speed, and it isn't quiet.
If you need a powerful breeze in your room, you want an attractive fan, and you don't mind the noise, this is a wonderful buy.

Having purchased many Hunter ceiling fans over the years, I am familiar with Hunter's quality. This floor-standing fan is sturdy and of excellent build quality; however, it is in no way reminiscent of Hunter's whisper-quiet ceiling fans.
Even on the lowest setting, I feel as though my ears are going to bleed after about ten minutes of use. Seriously, this fan needs five speed settings, not three, so that one can dial down the power and accompanying noise. In my opinion, the noise from this thing is simply ridiculous and unwarranted.
After about a week, I relegated this unit to the basement and went to my local big-box store to spend some more money and buy a quiter fan.
That's what I get for assuming that all Hunter fans are quiet. It just doesn't pay to assume anything.

After returning two other fans for being loud,this fan was perfect. It is in a large room, but sitting close is not a problem.
