Minka-Aire F518-WH 44-inch Concept II Flush Mount Ceiling Fan, White with White Blades

Ordered this fan recently for a small bedroom. The instructions are very easy to follow and the installation is quick. It has a three fan speed motor and is very quiet running. The only set back was that the bulb died after two days of use and since its a halogen, replacement is $10 - $15 rated at 100w 1000hr. I notified the company, and they did send a replacement bulb. Please note that the bulb is rated at 100 watts but output with light cover is about 60 watts.

I had this fan installed in my kitchen as part of a renovation in Jan 2007. I love its all-white surfaces because they disappear into my ceiling. All the finishes and the blades are completely smooth, so there are no decorative crevices to get grimy, and a simple wipe down is enough to keep it clean. The remote that comes with it controls every single feature--fan on/off/speed, light on/off/brightness and blade direction. Because of that, you can connect this fan to a simple switch and don't need to have fancy electrical work done to be able to control the light and fan separately. I have several other spots in the house that are going to get this same fan.

The fan came packaged very well which from the start gave me a good impression of the quality of this product. The instructions are clear and concise and the quality of materials is good. The fan motor itself is pretty heavy and Minka Aire was nice enough to include a hook on the mounting plate for the sole purpose of hanging the motor during installation..very nice. The blades simply snap in and can be removed if necessary by releasing a hidden catch. The remote control is simple to use and each button makes sense as to what function is being activated . The light output is equivalent to a standard 100 watt bulb but the halogen bulb itself is tiny. (Make sure not to touch the bulb with bare hands because finger oils can cause premature bulb failure.) The light when turned on fades in nicely and on-off brightness can be varied. The fan is very quiet and moves a good amount of air.
