Minka-Aire Fans F601-BS-BN 52" Acero Contemporary Brushed Steel Ceiling Fan w/ Light & Wall Ctrl

The style of this fan would be equally at home in a more modern home as it was in our 1927 craftsman bungalow kitchen. The pitch of the blades does a great job circulating air without generating an excessive amount of wind, although be sure to measure the blade length to make sure they don't hit your cabinet doors when open!

DIY-ers beware: The only drawback to this fan is the wiring connection inside the optional light fixture isn't very well designed. The neutral wire is tucked safely behind the bulb socket and away from the incredibly hot halogen bulb. The hot wire, however, hangs close enough to the bulb to melt through the insulation and sever the connection. I wound up having to repair my wire twice, finally resorting to wire-tying it to the neutral, which still remained safely tucked behind the hot part.

Wiring issues aside, we are planning to purchase another of these fans for our new house when we move next month.

This fan is in my home office and was here when I bought the home 5 years ago. We have to keep it on low at most as it moves the air so well. I'm saving to buy a Minka outdoor fan and another like this one for my bedroom, as the fans I have on the deck and in my bedroom are completely inferior to this one. Please note that the person who gave it a 1 rating is posted 2ce, which brings the "average customer review" rating down, and that their complaint is not with the functionality of this fan. My daughter, who works with me, ordered one for a large den in their new home... same thing. She has to keep it on low, as it cools the room so remarkably. It's a must-have if your summers are scorching like they are here in Dallas. It's mid-June and the temperatures are unrelentingly in the 90s and even low 100s already. These fans are gorgeous! Even more so in person. They are perfectly balanced, move the air in a pleasant way, and are very very quiet. We bought 4 of these in total, 2 in the last year. The ones we put outside in a protected porch area seeing some minor rust. Our fault...they are not really meant for outside. But the design was worth that risk.

One thing that is not obvious is that you can leave the light off and cap the bottom with the enclosed matching cap. 2 of ours we left the light off...which I prefer. But as ceiling fans with lights go...this one is as beautiful as it gets.

One note to owners of the fans:
The bulbs are odd and not easy to find. I suggest you look at them when you get yours, and note that somewhere (it is not in the manual) so when they go out you can figure this out without 5 trips to the bulb store!
