The look is very clean and minimalist, and indeed really quite practical as far as cleaning and care are concerned. The metal items are nicely finished and the blades appear to have been painted to a reasonable standard. I am not too fond of the manufacturer's name being stamped on the body of the fan but I positioned the fan so it was not readily visible so no biggie. Installation was very straightforward with no more assembly required than for fans of a similar design and I hit absolute no snags at all during assembly and hanging. A nice touch is that Monte Carlo provides chains and metal pulls with the fan (take note Hunter!). In operation, the fan is nice and quiet but the three fan speeds do appear to be slightly slower than an equivalent 52" Hunter fan I have in the house. We had a licensed electrician unsuccessfully attempt to install it. After failing to get it running, he called Monte Carlo, whereupon he discovered that this model had issues with a bad light kit. They told him to have us call the Amazon supplier to order the new light kit. I called the supplier and they told me to call Monte Carlo. When I called Monte Carlo, they tried to convince me to call the supplier. I became rude and forceful and demanded that they send the new light kit - after all they are the manufacturer. The woman on the phone chided me and told me that, in the future, I must call the supplier. I reassured her I would not be buying any more Monte Carlo fans via Amazon. As it turns out, I'll be buying no Monte Carlo fans at all ever again since the replacement light kit failed as well. The electrician heard the motor hum, but was unable to get the fan to work. I'm not going to deal with the knuckleheads at Monte Carlo. Instead,...Read more |
